The concept was to base it around iconic elements of the 80’s Hip-hop era and the Ting Tings themselves.  I created a type treatment that uses all ‘bits and pieces’ to spell out ‘Ting Tings’ of specific iconic elements of the 80’s era: 1) Stereo / BoomBox 2) Musical Tapes 3) The big clock/ watch necklaces.
Secondly the depiction of the Cap and sunglasses was to communicate the Ting tings through some of thier iconice elements: Jules’s affiliation with sunglasses and Katie’s affiliation with Caps.
Lastly I created a branding aspect which also depicts the name of the band to be used through a variety of mediums but whilst upholding the bands persona.

Following on from the Album sleeve design, I incorporated the whole concept through additional means, and applied it to merchandising, within T shirt design.
